American Trophy plaques are produced from solid American walnut or cherry wood and feature solid brass engraving plates.

Commemorative and Memorial awards

A commemorative plaque is a metal plate, ceramic, stone, wood, or other material, normally attached to a wall, stone, or other vertical surface, and containing text in memory of an important event or person.

The Memorial Plaque was issued after the First World War to the next-of-kin of all British and Empire (now Commonwealth) service personnel who lost their lives as a result of the war. It was of Bronze, and hence popularly known as the "Dead Man’s Penny", due to the similarity to the penny coin.
